MAKE AN IMPACT WHERE IT MATTERS MOST

Join the Rural Support Service (RSS) and play a key role in shaping communications that support healthcare delivery across regional South Australia. Working as part of a dynamic communications team, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that improve health outcomes for communities across the state.

We are seeking two skilled communications professionals at different levels:

ASO5 Communications Adviser

In this role, you will:

  • Provide communication advice and support to the Rural Support Service (RSS) and regional senior stakeholders, helping align services across rural South Australia.
  • Develop and implement communication action plans, and activities to support integration within the BHFLHN structure.
  • Create engaging, high-quality content across multiple channels including newsletters, briefings, web, intranet, and social media.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams to co-design content and achieve communication and project outcomes.
  • Apply strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills to address complex communication challenges, with an interest in regional health considered advantageous.

ASO6 Senior Communications Adviser

In this senior role, you will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of communication strategies, plans, and activities to support integration within BHFLHN structures.
  • Provide expert communications advice to RSS senior leaders, executives, subject matter experts, and project teams across regional South Australia.
  • Create clear, engaging content across multiple platforms, including newsletters, briefings, web and intranet pages, and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver communication outcomes, ensuring milestones and project objectives are met.
  • Apply strong problem-solving, adaptability, and relationship-building skills to manage complex communication challenges, with regional health experience considered an advantage.

WHO ARE WE? 

The RSS is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS's three Adelaide offices.  Our mission statement is to empower South Australian regional local health networks by providing efficient and collaborative shared services that support innovation, enhance connectivity, streamline operations and support strategic goals.

  • Experience in developing communication strategies, content and campaigns
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • A passion for delivering meaningful outcomes in a public sector or health setting

For the ASO6 role, you will also demonstrate:

  • Advanced strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in supporting change management implementation
  • Experience advising senior leaders and managing complex issues
  • Ability to lead projects and influence stakeholders
