About the Role
As an Operational Services Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory. Working under general direction, you will use your practical skills and attention to detail to assist with specimen handling, data entry and laboratory support tasks that contribute to timely and accurate diagnostic testing.
In this hands on role, you will receive, sort and accession specimens, prepare and store samples correctly, and enter information into laboratory systems. You will also assist with packaging samples for transport, respond to staff and customer enquiries and help maintain high standards across the laboratory. Working closely with the team, you will support quality improvement activities, maintain accurate records and contribute to a safe, organised and efficient laboratory environment.
About You
Able to work with initiative under limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Proven skills in prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines and performing effectively under pressure
• Strong teamwork and customer service focus, with clear and professional communication skills
• Ideally have experience in pathology laboratory operations and data systems
• Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
• Good keyboard skills
