Join Our Team as a Nurse Consultant - Lead Specialist Prostate Cancer Care

This is an opportunity to lead a specialised program, support patients across the entire care continuum, and guide nursing excellence within a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.

About the Role:

As the Nurse Consultant - Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, you will play a key leadership and clinical coordination role in delivering supportive, evidence-based nursing care to patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless care throughout the patient journey, providing expert clinical advice, and fostering high standards of practice consistent with RMCLHN and SA Health policies.

You will act as a consultant, role model, and clinical leader - supporting nursing staff and other health professionals while leading the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Prostate Care Program. In this role, you will accept accountability for your clinical practice, professional advice, and the effective delegation of care to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality outcomes for patients and their families.

Your work will be vital in strengthening service delivery, advancing best practice, and enhancing the experience of those navigating prostate cancer treatment and survivorship.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated relevant advanced level of skill in cancer or urological nursing
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Relevant experience in advanced practice with respect to the management of men with Prostate Cancer (and/or oncology nursing experience).
  • Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.

This is a part time vacancy, working 38 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
