About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as the Towards Zero Suicide Initiative Coordinator within Northern Mental Health.

As the Towards Zero Suicide (TZS) Initiative Coordinator, you will coordinate and implement evidence-based suicide prevention strategies, supporting healthcare teams and community partners to create safer environments for people experiencing suicidal thoughts.

The TZS Initiative Coordinator will drive continuous improvement efforts by:

  • aligning change management, continuous improvement and innovation activities with the Zero Suicide Framework and organisational priorities
  • leading, coordinating and implementing complex system and process improvement across Teams, Services and Divisions
  • building capability in change management, continuous improvement and innovation across the organisation through leading, coaching, mentoring, training, recognition and support that focuses on suicide prevention initiatives aligning with the Zero Suicide Framework
  • developing a continuous improvement and inquiring culture regarding suicide prevention across NALHN where each decision and action is driven by the focus on consumer outcomes and experience, measurement and systems thinking

To be eligible for this position at the AHP3 classification, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification for one of the following Allied Health disciplines working in the service, specifically:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with Occupational Therapy Australia or
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or
  • Appropriate degree (Master of Clinical Psychology) or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA; must also hold general registration with the PsyBA and be endorsed in Clinical Psychology area of practice and hold approved supervisor status with the PsyBA at all levels of supervision (primary and secondary).

To be eligible for this position at RN3 classification, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
