About the role
As a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare by ensuring patients and clinicians receive accurate and timely diagnostic services. From greeting patients with warmth and professionalism to carefully, preparing, and managing specimens, you’ll be part of a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives every day. Your attention to detail and commitment to customer care will help provide a seamless experience, whether you’re performing phlebotomy, handling specimens, or assisting with administrative tasks using our Laboratory Information Systems.
In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the smooth and efficient management of specimens during the pre-analytical stage, ensuring they are processed, stored, and transported under strict conditions. You’ll also contribute to timely and accurate data entry, while responding to internal and external enquiries with professionalism and care. With your dedication and teamwork, you’ll help maintain the highest standards in patient safety, quality, and service, making a valuable contribution to the community and the healthcare system.

Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain patient confidentiality.

Demonstrated experience in pathology or hospital specimen collection/laboratory environments, with sound knowledge of infection control, WHS and NATA requirements.

High attention to detail, strong computer skills and the ability to prioritise tasks while working effectively under general direction.

Reliable, proactive and committed to continuous professional development, with a positive work ethic and proven ability to meet high performance standards.
