Overview
The Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN) is offering a position for an Associate Midwife Unit Manager in the YNLHN Midwifery Group Practice. In this role, you will assist the Midwifery Manager in leading midwifery care for a designated caseload of women during pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal care.
In collaboration with other Midwife Unit Managers, you will be promoting continuity and consistency of care and encouraged to participate in implementing practice changes and undertaking service management responsibilities, including performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring.
The Midwifery Group Practice works over five birthing sites in the YNLHN - Wallaroo, Clare, Jamestown, Port Pirie and Crystal Brook. In Yorke & Northern, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to caseload midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Yorke & Northern is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.
Essential Criteria
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate
- Minimum of 3 years full time equivalent post registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Experience in management and leadership roles including supervision of student midwives and less experienced nurses/midwives
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workload effectively
- Creative, innovative, and flexible approach to healthcare challenges, with a commitment to woman and family centred care
