About the Opportunity
Multiple exciting opportunities exist to join the Women’s and Babies Division as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife (Clinical Education). In this role, you will work across multiple wards including:
- Delivery Suite
- Postnatal Service (including Midwifery Home Visiting Service)
- Women’s Outpatient Department (5 day roster)
- Antenatal Gynaecology Ward
- Women's Assessment Service
where you will be responsible for:
- Support the Midwife Unit Managers by leading clinical education and promoting quality patient care.
- Provide midwifery and/or nursing services across a variety of care settings, progressing from competent to proficient practice.
- Guide and support less experienced staff, while being accountable for own clinical standards and delegated responsibilities.
- Foster collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, women and families, and external partners to achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Hold an Education Portfolio, with responsibilities tailored to individual development goals and performance plans.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
- Additional tertiary or vocational qualifications in education
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines
- Registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Midwife or Clinical Nurse/Midwife
