This infrastructure is essential for Triple Zero service delivery to the public of South Australia, and it is paramount that systems are always operational, and any issues are resolved immediately.

Providing specialist technical support for critical communications infrastructure within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Operational fleet and Ambulance stations across SA Ambulance Service

Key Responsibilities: 

Manage and maintain critical systems and equipment:
- Manage and maintain the configuration of multiple critical systems that support the Emergency Operations Centre.
- Ensure Fleet Radio, GRN pagers, MDTs, AVL, GPS equipment, mobile and satellite telephones, and Hospital Radio Console equipment are serviceable and maintained according to specifications.
- Install and maintain equipment in SA Ambulance buildings to professional standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex faults:
- Exercise independent judgment to assess and resolve complex faults on a broad range of technical equipment and systems within the Emergency Operations Centre in an efficient and timely manner.
- Escalate issues to external contractors and service providers as required.
- Apply sound technical engineering and systems competency to investigate and resolve complex faults in critical radio, telephony, and paging systems.

Provide high-level telephony services:
- Provide high-level telephony services, including complex PABX programming, reconfiguration, moves, and changes, to support the critical needs of the Emergency Operations Centre.
- Coordinate the installation of new telephone equipment in SAAS properties and manage telephone moves and changes.

Plan and implement new equipment and systems:
- Plan and execute the implementation of new equipment and systems for the Emergency Operations Centre.
- Prepare specifications for the manufacture or supply of specialized equipment and services, ensuring appropriate quality control and OHS measures are in place.

Provide technical leadership and support:
- Provide supervision, leadership, and technical support to other communication technical officers through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical support to other team members and equipment users to ensure the ongoing safe and effective utilization of communication systems.
- Assist with the development of procedures for equipment maintenance.

6. Participate in continuous improvement and procurement processes:
- Assist with continuous quality improvement programs and activities aligned with SAAS's strategic and corporate directions and targets.
- Assist with procurement processes for communication devices and systems, contributing technical advice on equipment and system configuration options, emerging technologies, and the viability of replacing or repairing equipment.
