About the Role
As a Nurse Unit Manager within the Mental Health Clinical Program (MHCP), you will play a pivotal leadership role in coordinating and overseeing high-quality consumer care. You will be responsible for the line management of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless delivery of care and positive health outcomes. Your leadership will help drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and a supportive team culture focused on consumer-centred care.
In this key position, you will be accountable for the outcomes of nursing and multidisciplinary practices within your unit. You’ll guide and support less experienced staff, foster continuous improvement, and align service delivery with the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services. About You
You are a motivated and experienced mental health nursing professional who thrives in leadership roles and is passionate about delivering person-centred care. With a strong foundation in mental health nursing, you are confident in managing teams, driving service improvements, and supporting the recovery journey of consumers within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualified and Registered: Registered with the Nursing Board of Australia, holding a current practising certificate and a recognised qualification in mental health nursing (Graduate Diploma or equivalent).

Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead, resolve conflict, negotiate, and communicate effectively across teams while fostering a positive and growth-oriented work culture.

Clinical and Management Experience: Minimum of three years post-registration experience, with a solid track record in nursing leadership, mentoring, and clinical supervision.

Strong Knowledge Base: Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, clinical standards, national mental health policies, and quality improvement systems within contemporary mental health practice.
