About the Role
As a Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), you will play a crucial role in coordinating consumer care within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care is consistently delivered to patients in line with the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services. You will lead, manage, and coordinate nursing activities, ensuring continuity and excellent outcomes for your patients. Your leadership will guide the team’s performance, address inconsistencies in practice, and promote a positive work culture that prioritises consumer outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to develop and mentor staff, fostering a supportive environment where nursing professionals can thrive. As the NUM, you will be accountable for your practice standards, overseeing both nursing and multidisciplinary activities to ensure compliance with policy and deliver top-tier care. About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the qualifications, skills, and experience to lead and deliver exceptional care in a mental health setting.
Key Requirements

Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate and a qualification in mental health nursing (Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent).

Proven leadership skills with experience in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and team management.

Demonstrated ability to enhance models of care, focusing on person- and family-centred approaches.

A minimum of three years' post-registration experience, with expertise in mental health nursing, and a commitment to consumer and carer participation.
