SALHN is looking for Social Workers with experience in a Mental Health Setting to join our team.
We are looking to recruit Social Workers with at least one year of experience to join the Mental Health Division of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN). New Social Workers who have completed a Mental Health Placement are also welcome to apply.

This vacancy will be used to fill Casual, Term and Permanent/Ongoing vacancies in the Mental Health Division across the SALHN MH as they arise.
About the role:
Reporting to the Principal Social Worker Mental Health this role is responsible for the delivery of a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers. This role may include working in inpatient, community or specialist settings. Duties for the role will include:
- Responsible to the allocated Consultant Psychiatrist or delegate for implementing the Treatment and Care Plan developed by the multidisciplinary team and the consumer.
- Specialised expertise to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality clinical work and provides discipline specific assessments and interventions.
- Works collaboratively with consumers and families/carers and may liaise closely with a network of government and non-government organisations with the aim of maximising wellbeing, assisting stabilisation of mental health, rehabilitation, and building functional capacity for self-management.
- Actively engages in Social Work Clinical Supervision, which is provided as part of your employment
About you:
The successful candidate will be required to work across the spectrum of therapeutic client services including Community and Inpatient Mental Health Services. Some work outside normal hours may be required. Short term full-time, part-time and casual contacts may be available pending successful appointment to the candidate pool. Seeking Social Workers with at least one year of experience, preferably in a mental health setting.
For appointment as a Social Worker, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
