About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS Acute Services team as a Service Manager, where you will be responsible for

  • Provide management oversight to lead and improve CAMHS team/service processes and practices in accordance with emerging service needs, care evaluation results, identified imminent systems problems, and coordination of local activities with corporate systems.
  • Lead and improve local processes and interventions in infant, child, and adolescent mental health by the application of professional standards (in conjunction with clinical leads) and adherence to policies, protocols and procedures and working in accordance with client centred care.
  • Coordinate services for expert assessment and advice to achieve integrated child and adolescent mental health care.
  • Identify and address inconsistencies between child and adolescent mental health practice and policy.
  • Monitor, interpret and prepare responses to relevant regional, state, and national plans, policies, reviews, and initiatives as required by the Division of CAMHS.
  • Contribute to the development of WCHN and SA Health plans, policies, frameworks, and projects of relevance to CAMHS.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and has completed an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health nursing practice.
  • An appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or
  • An appropriate degree in clinical practice or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA. Must hold general registration with the PsyBA endorsed in clinical practice Or
  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of SA (up to July 2012) or Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (post July 2012).
  • Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles in a multidisciplinary context.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and human resource management, including in relation to recruitment and retention of Aboriginal workforce.
  • Knowledge of the issues in providing services to Aboriginal children and their families, children and their families from CALD, children, and young people under the care of the Chief Executive (Child Protection) and other client groups facing vulnerability.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical care for infants, children, adolescents who have experienced emotional, psychiatric and/or behavioural distress and their families.
