Are you organised, proactive, and ready to make a difference in healthcare? We’re looking for a motivated and dynamic Ward Clerk to join our team at Port Lincoln Health Service. In this important role, you will provide vital administrative support to our medical and nursing staff, helping to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general reception duties, including answering calls, taking messages, and managing patient enquiries.
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient appointments and assist with hospital transfers.
- Manage medical records, including admissions, discharges, and filing.
- Support nursing staff with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, compiling reports, and managing patient information systems.
- Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements for staff as needed.
- Help maintain a high standard of service by problem-solving and prioritising tasks effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access), with a working knowledge of video conferencing.
- A commitment to confidentiality and maintaining professional standards.
- Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred.
- Knowledge of contemporary healthcare settings and relevant legislation.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
