About the Role

Help shape the future of healthcare by partnering with leaders and frontline teams to embed Safe and Connected across CALHN and help solve complex service challenges, strengthen improvement capability and deliver meaningful, sustainable improvement.

As a Senior Improvement Partner, you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with teams to understand the problems they are trying to solve, use data and structured problem-solving to identify opportunities for improvement, and coach and facilitate teams through the improvement process.

Working as part of the Safe and Connected Improvement Team, you will support leaders and teams to embed the operating model in practice, strengthen ways of working and apply contemporary improvement approaches to service challenges. You will help teams translate insights into action and build the capability and ownership needed to sustain improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders and teams to embed Safe and Connected in everyday ways of working
  • Lead improvement across diverse and complex services
  • Work alongside teams to understand and solve service challenges
  • Coach teams through structured improvement and problem-solving
  • Facilitate workshops and improvement activities
  • Use data to understand performance and guide improvement
  • Build improvement capability and ownership within teams
  • Apply improvement methods and tools to support sustainable improvement
  • Share learning and insights to strengthen continuous improvement and the ongoing evolution of Safe and Connected

About You

You’re passionate about improving how services work and making things better for patients, staff and teams. You bring curiosity, strong problem-solving skills and structured thinking, with the ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively alongside others.

You’re comfortable working through complex and sometimes ambiguous challenges, bringing people together and using data and insights to identify practical opportunities for improvement. You build credibility with leaders, clinicians and frontline teams and can facilitate productive conversations that help turn ideas into action.

You work shoulder-to-shoulder with teams, coaching and facilitating them to understand problems, test ideas through small tests of change, learn what works and adapt their approach. In doing so, you build improvement capability and ownership with the people closest to the work.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring the ability to:

  • Lead and support improvement across complex service environments
  • Apply improvement principles, methods and tools appropriate to the problem and context
  • Use structured problem-solving to understand problems and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Build trusted partnerships and influence at different levels
  • Coach and support teams to build improvement capability and ownership
  • Use data to understand performance, guide decisions and measure improvement
  • Facilitate groups through complex challenges and improvement activity
  • Work effectively across different services, disciplines and organisational contexts

Knowledge and experience in improvement science and/or applying recognised improvement approaches, such as Lean, Lean Six Sigma, the Model for Improvement or other improvement science approaches, will be highly regarded.

Project experience may be valuable, but this is an improvement role rather than a traditional project management role.
