Join our Allied Health Team

Join the Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care (RAP) Division at the Repat Health Precinct and make a meaningful difference to patients as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary Allied Health team. As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work alongside Allied Health Professionals to support patient care, promote independence and contribute to positive occupational and therapeutic outcomes.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Allied Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Manager and working under the direction of Allied Health Professionals, the Allied Health Assistant provides patient care and therapy support to assist patients in achieving greater independence and improved outcomes.

  • Providing specific therapeutic interventions and assisting with patient therapy under the direction of Allied Health Professionals.
  • Assisting patients with transport, preparation, personal care, movement and physical tasks associated with therapy interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation and therapy-related databases as directed.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapy and reporting relevant information to supervising Allied Health Professionals.

About you:

  • Must be eligible for or be willing to undertake a Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
  • Ability to work under close supervision and direction from Allied Health Professionals
  • Ability to act responsibly in an emergency situation, with an ability to competently undertake pool rescue protocol per the division's procedures
  • Previous relevant experience with patient care or experience working with people of varying degrees of disability and/or backgrounds
