As an AHP2 Dietitian within the Rehabilitation team of the Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division, you will deliver evidence-based dietetic care to inpatients and outpatients, supervise AHP1 clinicians and students, and contribute to quality improvement and research alongside a committed interdisciplinary team.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Service Manager, this role is integral to the delivery of high-quality dietetic care across the Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care Division. Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide education and counselling to patients and caregivers, and prescribe appropriate nutrition support to optimise health and functional outcomes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement and evaluate therapy programs and contribute to quality and service improvement activities
  • Supervise AHP1 Dietitians and students on clinical placement, supporting the development of high professional and clinical standards within the department
  • Liaise with Food Services providers, maintain relevant work statistics, and represent the Nutrition and Dietetics Department at internal and external forums as required

About you:

  • Relevant degree and eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience managing complex and diverse patient presentations, including elderly, palliative and rehabilitation patients, with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of staff and patient care
  • Experience supervising and training dietetic students on clinical placement and supporting less experienced staff
  • Working knowledge of the DAA Code of Ethics, National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, and a commitment to evidence-based, person and family centred care
