Overview

Rural medicine offers something genuinely different - and so does this role. SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network is seeking a Medical Education Registrar to support the education, wellbeing, and development of junior doctors across one of South Australia's most distinctive regional health settings. This is a part-time, short-term contract position through to 31 January 2027.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with the Director of Clinical Training, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the experience of Interns and Resident Medical Officers across the Eyre and Far North LHN. Your responsibilities will span:

• Delivering intern and RMO teaching through tutorials, clinical simulation, and skills stations, and contributing to the clinical tutor roster
• Participating in Medical Education and Training Committee meetings and conducting six-monthly Performance Review and Development sessions
• Reviewing and updating rotation handbooks and supporting Director of Clinical Training workload and duties
• Contributing to intern and RMO orientation, serving on interview panels, and supporting rotation planning with Medical Education Officers
• Providing pastoral care through regular touchpoints, end-of-term one-on-ones, and facilitating team social connections
• Representing the network at recruitment events including high school and rural medicine expos

What You Bring

• A Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
• Current, unconditional AHPRA registration relevant to your profession
• Experience working within or alongside junior medical education and training frameworks
• An understanding of the particular challenges and rewards of rural and remote medical practice
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to the growth of early-career doctors
• Capacity to contribute to academic paper writing and engage in ongoing personal professional development in medical education
