About The Role 

The Casual Administration Officer provides efficient administrative support across Millicent & District Hospital and Sheoak Lodge Aged Care Facility. Reporting to the Administration Manager, the role delivers welcoming counter and telephone services, directs patients and visitors, responds to enquiries, and connects callers with staff. Key responsibilities include supporting admissions, emergency presentations and theatre patients through the Sunrise system, entering outpatient information, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and maintaining stationery and forms. The officer works closely with clinical, administrative and aged care teams, prioritising competing demands, following established procedures, protecting confidentiality, and remaining calm and courteous under pressure at all times.

About You 

You are an organised and adaptable administration professional with strong communication, customer service and data entry skills. You work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality. Your attention to detail, respectful approach and ability to follow procedures enable you to support patients, visitors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams effectively.

  • Proven experience delivering confidential, efficient administration and high-quality customer service.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets, email and general office equipment.
  • Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience maintaining records and files while handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience engaging respectfully with diverse customers, including Aboriginal consumers, with cultural awareness and willingness to undertake further training.

Conditions of Employment
