Overview:

  • The Director, Strategy and Intergovernmental Relations is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives requiring highly effective intra- and inter-government relations and partnerships that support the Preventive Health SA Act 2024 and implementation of the agency’s Strategic Plan, including monitoring and reporting on implementation aligned with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework.

  • The role provides high-level specialist advice that directly influences policy, planning and decision-making to advance preventive health priorities and improve population health outcomes. The role applies effective leadership skills to build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships across government supporting effective collaboration, and influencing public policy outcomes, including advancing preventive health priorities including the determinants of health.

  • The position leads and manages the Strategy and Intergovernmental Relations portfolio for Preventive Health SA and is accountable for fostering strategic partnerships, driving collaboration across government, and identifying cross-government opportunities and emerging issues to support the integration of preventive health initiatives into government policy and reform agendas.

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
