About the role

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) has recently launched a new, purpose-built Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (MHRU) at Noarlunga Hospital (NH). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service and team, helping to shape the future of mental health care in the community. MHRU is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a supportive and recovery-oriented environment for consumers with high and complex needs. This role also provides an exciting opportunity to coordinate the management of clozapine across all SALHN sites, forming an integral part of the Pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams.

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you’ll bring advanced technical expertise to support a comprehensive, safe and efficient pharmacy service. Working with limited direction, you’ll contribute across clinical support, dispensing and distribution, pharmaceutical packaging, inventory management and the preparation or manufacture of pharmaceuticals. You’ll also help organise daily workloads, monitor quality and support the delivery of cost-effective medication services that achieve the best outcomes for patients.

You’ll play an important role in supporting and developing others, assisting with the supervision and orientation of pharmacy assistants, students and other staff. Working closely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistants, medical and nursing staff and other health professionals, you’ll share your knowledge, provide training and help maintain high standards across daily pharmacy activities. This is an opportunity to use your experience, initiative and leadership skills to make a meaningful contribution to patient care.

About You

Bring your extensive hospital pharmacy experience, technical expertise and leadership skills to a role where your knowledge can support safe, accurate and high-quality pharmacy services.

  • Relevant Certificate IV or above, with extensive hospital pharmacy experience
  • Demonstrated competence across two or more pharmacy practice areas
  • Strong leadership, teaching, coaching and team supervision skills
  • Excellent accuracy, organisation and communication skills, with sound knowledge of pharmacy practice, production and dispensing
