About The Role

Join Country Health Connect on a 12-month term contract, as a Rural Generalist Occupational Therapist and use your clinical expertise to deliver comprehensive, client-centred occupational therapy services across the Limestone Coast.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess clients’ occupational abilities and needs, manage a complex caseload, and plan and deliver evidence-based interventions across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. You will work with increasing professional autonomy while receiving support and clinical supervision from senior Occupational Therapy clinicians.

You will also contribute to service development, support junior staff, allied health assistants and students, and help improve health outcomes, functional capacity and quality of life for people across our regional communities.

About You

You are an Occupational Therapist with strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively across a diverse rural caseload. You bring sound professional judgement, a collaborative approach and a commitment to client-centred care, continuous learning and service improvement within a multidisciplinary environment.

To succeed in the Rural Generalist Occupational Therapist role, you will:

  • Hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and meet all requirements to obtain and maintain current AHPRA registration.
  • Apply developing generalist and/or specialist clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess client needs and deliver appropriate Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a complex caseload and work effectively with reduced clinical supervision.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, health professionals and community service providers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development, client-centred practice, quality improvement and the ongoing development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services.

Conditions of Employment

  • A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
  • A satisfactory Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
  • A satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
  • A current driver’s licence is essential, along with a willingness to drive on country roads and travel as required.
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances).
  • SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy
