Sterilisation Services Manager | Drive Quality at South Australia's Busiest Tertiary Hospital

Lead the team responsible for ensuring every reusable medical device meets the highest reprocessing standards and support safe patient care across Flindes Medical Centre.

This is a full-time, ongoing leadership role within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, where you will manage daily operations, drive quality improvement, and develop a skilled sterilisation team.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will manage and support our Sterilisation Services team to ensure a reliable and high-quality service for patients and clinical staff.

As the Manager Sterilisation Services, some of your duties may involve: 

  • Providing day to day leadership, direction and support to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of resources.
  • Effectively coordinating staffing levels. This may include undertaking recruitment and  induction activities.
  • Developing rosters and staffing plans for the unit. 
  • Closely collaborating with the Nurse Manager ensure that compliance with AS/NZS5369:2023 and NSQHS is maintained.

About you:

  • Certificate III Sterilisation Technology.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience in sterilisation practices and procedures including knowledge of requirements of AS/NZS5369:2023 and NSQHS .
  • Demonstrated experience in working in sterilisation services.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
  • Demonstrated experience in management and leadership roles including rostering of staff.
