About the role

Provide professional nursing/midwifery services within the Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS), delivering person-centred care while developing clinical capability through ongoing professional development, experience, and accountability for own practice and delegated activities.

Key duties of the role

• Assess client needs, deliver person-centred nursing/midwifery care, and coordinate appropriate health services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
• Participate in quality improvement activities that contribute to client safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting
• Provide health promotion and education, to clients or groups to improve the health outcomes of individual
• Participate in evaluative research activities within the practice setting
• Provide, with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, including Enrolled Nurses

Skills and Experience

• Registered Nurse/Midwife with current or eligible NMBA registration and practising certificate
• Demonstrated competence in relevant nursing/midwifery practice standards
• Experience delivering safe, high-quality, person and family-centred care
• Knowledge of healthcare legislation, standards, ethics and quality improvement practices
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
