About the role: 

Reporting to the Respiratory & Sleep Outpatient Supervisor, this role is integral to co-ordinating clinics and providing administrative support including referral management and RoPP billing requirements for Respiratory and Sleep Clinics and the Respiratory Function Unit

Duties for the role will include:

  • Liaising between patients and RSS consultants and nurses.
  • Providing assistance to doctors and patients with general enquiries and special requests
  • Preparing clinic timetables and ensuring efficient booking of clinics
  • Ensure that all enquiries either telephone or counter are handled in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner
  • Dealing with customer and client enquires in a timely manner and relay telephone messages to members of the team, either by email, written message, or paging clinicians
  • Providing a friendly and approachable Reception service

About you:

  • Experience providing an effective and strong patient focus within a patient service environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, courtesy and prudence when dealing with enquiries
  • Highly developed communication skills to interact effectively with a variety of professional and nonprofessional people, including patients
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and with a high degree of independence, determine priorities, perform well under pressure and forward plan
