About the Role

The Administration Officer – Chemotherapy/Oncology Department plays an essential role in supporting the delivery of specialist cancer care by providing high-quality administrative and reception services within the Chemotherapy/Oncology Unit. Reporting to the Manager Patient Administration Services, you will coordinate patient appointments, admissions, referrals and clinical administration while ensuring accurate records are maintained across multiple electronic systems. Working closely with nursing, medical and allied health staff, you will help deliver a professional, efficient and compassionate experience for patients throughout their cancer treatment journey.

With excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, you are committed to providing confidential, accurate and compassionate administrative support while contributing positively to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

To succeed in the Administration Officer – Chemotherapy/Oncology role, you will:

  • Demonstrate experience providing confidential, accurate and efficient administrative or reception services.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with patients, staff and the public.
  • Possess strong computer and data entry skills, with experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration (including Sunrise and/or iChemo systems) will be highly regarded.

Patient Administration Services provides frontline administrative support across the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, ensuring patients receive efficient, professional and coordinated care from referral through to discharge.
