Lead Recovery, Inspire Change – Senior Social Worker

Join our Specialist Community Mental Health Service as a Senior Social Worker and play a pivotal role in supporting consumers on their recovery journey. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide expert mental health assessments, care coordination, therapeutic interventions, and advocacy to promote positive outcomes and wellbeing. As a clinical leader, you'll apply your specialised social work expertise to mentor colleagues, drive best practice, and contribute to continuous service improvement. This rewarding opportunity offers a high level of autonomy, collaboration, and the chance to make a meaningful impact across the community.

About you:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a current clinical mental health setting
  • Knowledge and experience of evidence based theoretical frameworks relevant to the field of mental health (such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy, Safety Planning/Relapse Prevention, and the Recovery Model)
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Clinical skills appropriate to the area of individual counselling, group work, family therapy and focused psychological strategies
  • Advanced skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment including risk assessments of consumers presenting with high or complex needs
