Make an Impact: Senior Speech Pathology Position in Laryngeal Disorders

As the Senior Speech Pathologist - Laryngeal Disorders, you'll utilize highly specialized skills to manage complex patients with laryngeal disorders, using techniques like videofluoroscopy and FEES in a new Speech Pathology Led service. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager of Speech Pathology Acute Services, some of your duties as the Senior Speech Pathologist may involve:

  • Providing leadership, supervision and consultancy services related to laryngeal disorders. 
  • Collaborating with the Advanced Practitioner Speech Pathologist and ENT to evaluate a new Speech Pathology led service for outpatients with laryngeal-based disorders.
  • Actively pursuing opportunities as required to maintain currency of clinical knowledge in the area of adult disorders of swallowing and communication.

About you:

  • Appropriate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
  • Extensive clinical experience in the acute management of adult communication and swallowing disorders demonstrating expertise in the assessment and management of laryngeal based disorders including laryngeal hypersensitivity syndrome, dysphonia and dysphagia, including the use of VFSS and FEES
  • Demonstrated experience in training and clinical supervision of speech pathology staff, students or allied health assistants
  • Experience in clinical protocol/procedure/pathway development
  • Experience in collecting, analysing and interpreting data, and making appropriate recommendations
