SALHN provides public health services including hospital, outpatient and community services to a population of about 364,000 people across the southern Adelaide metropolitan region, as well as a range of state-wide services.  With more than 900 beds and 9,000 staff across 20 sites, including Flinders Medical Centre (FMC), Noarlunga Hospital Precinct (NHP), GP Plus centres and services in the community centred on Veteran’s mental health, Aboriginal Health, home based care and Repat Health Precinct (RHP). SALHN is unique in the State public health system in providing services across the full lifespan of our community.

A great opportunity is available to join the team in Corporate Nursing and Midwifery as a Project Nurse/Midwife within SALHN.

As the Project Nurse/Midwife, you will assist the development and review of nursing and midwifery procedures and guidelines, participate in special projects to improve patient care and staff wellbeing, take part in audits, prepare reports for Executive Committees, and perform the role of Executive Officer for committees. About you:

Registered or eligible for registration:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
  • Ability to work within a team framework
  • Effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and a healthful culture
  • Skills in using computers, including MS Teams, email, word processing and Excel
  • Qualifications and experience in quality improvement, project management, report writing, data analysis or management highly regarded but not essential
