About the role

The Assistant Business Manager provides high-quality administrative and business support to ensure the efficient operation of the Division. The role is responsible for financial and administrative management, supporting staffing, business, and operational processes, and providing advice on relevant policies and procedures. It also contributes to information management, business improvement initiatives, effective resource allocation, and the coordination of research support functions to enable the delivery of quality services.

Key duties of the role

  • Contribute to the development of the Division’s financial, workforce, and management information systems and reporting
  • Provide effective and responsive administrative, workforce, financial, and business support services to staff across the Division
  • Assisting Business Manager with contracts and leasing processes including following up as directed for required documentation 

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading administrative, financial, workforce, and business operations at an operational level.
  • Proven communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of human resource management, WHS/OHS requirements, business processes, and relevant legislation and policies.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
