Help Hearts Recover —Associate Nurse Unit Manager, Cardiac Rehab 

This part-time ongoing role at Flinders Medical Centre places you at the centre of cardiac recovery, leading rehabilitation care for patients rebuilding their health after a cardiac event. Working within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, you will bring specialist nursing expertise to a multidisciplinary team that genuinely values clinical leadership and person-centred practice. About the role: 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead the delivery of evidence-based cardiac rehabilitation, providing specialist clinical assessment, patient education, and expert consultation across the multidisciplinary team at Flinders Medical Centre.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure that service provision and the activities of the Division / Unit / Ward / Service are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area,
  • Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
  • Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,
  • Plan and coordinate services including those from other disciplines

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience, or currently practicing as a Clinical Nurse,
  • Demonstrated competence in Acute nursing and Cardiac Nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
