  • Total Indicative Remuneration: $117,483 - $183,357p.a. (pro rata) MDP2
    • Duration of the training program: 12 months from 02/02/2027 - 29/01/2027
    • Contract Term: 3 years in line with clause 52 of the SMOEA. 
    • Upon conclusion of the training program, SALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract.

About the role:

We are excited to present this opportunity to individuals with a solid background and genuine interest in Respiratory or Sleep Medicine. The positions are located across Metropolitan Adelaide, with location preferences to be made in the application. 

This role is multi-faceted where you will be required to: 

  • Maintain the high standards and principles of the regional health service through your individual performance. 
  • Act as an integral member of the medical unit and division. 
  • Play a key role in the education of medical students, junior medical staff, and other professional colleagues. 
  • Actively engage in research activities. 

 

About you: 

  • Completed Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. 
  • Registered with the Medical Board of Australia and have completed the FRACP written and clinical examinations OR having completed the FRACP written exam and are eligible for provisional training you will be appropriate post-graduate experience. 
  • Ability to work as a team player and operate effectively as part of a team as well as autonomously. 
  • Demonstrated competency in a range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills. 
  • High level skills in negotiation and communication, with the ability to display genuine empathy for patients and their relatives/families. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure without compromising patient care. 
  • Proven skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and individual level. 

Please note: As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills, and capabilities.
