*Hourly rate $34.59 - $35.28 + penalties + super + leave loading + salary sacrifice benefits

You will work on a rotating roster (4 days/nights on then 6 off) with fixed day and night shifts of 12 hour shifts. You are also required to be on call as part of the shift rotation.

About Role

As a Hospital Security Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, ensuring smooth operations, and supporting the health unit’s mission. You’ll be an integral part of the team, assisting with security, patient care, and emergency response, all while offering guidance and de-escalating challenging situations. Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a visible security presence in key areas such as the Emergency Department and throughout the health facility.
  • Assist staff in managing aggressive or agitated patients, including de-escalation and restraint where necessary.
  • Conduct regular security patrols of the site, including external areas, car parks, and the helipad.
  • Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors in emergency situations.

What we’re looking for

  • Current South Australian Security Agent – General Guarding Licence or willingness to obtain.
  • Proven ability to work well within a team and adapt to various settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in security roles, including the de-escalation of aggressive or agitated individuals.
  • Knowledge of safe working conditions and commitment to customer service.
