About the role

The Senior Occupational Therapist provides advanced clinical services to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), while also providing clinical leadership and professional supervision to occupational therapy staff. The role contributes to service improvement, safety and quality, and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure effective, client-centred service delivery.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide proficient, evidence-based mental health care to clients and their families while demonstrating commitment to consumer participation and contributing to team leadership.
  • Ensure services are delivered in a culturally responsive manner
  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge to multidisciplinary staff for to implement consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes
  • Contribute clinical expertise in a safe, positive learning environment while supporting professional development and participating in research and evaluation programs.
  • Contribute expertise in all aspects of quality management to improve occupational therapy and service delivery

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Australia.
  • Extensive experience delivering mental health OT services to children and adolescents
  • Proven experience in complex assessment, intervention, and delivery of evidence-based therapeutic programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision, team leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of developmental theory, mental health frameworks, and relevant policies affecting child and adolescent services.
