About the role

The Emergency Management Operations and Training Officer oversees emergency‑response training, develops learning resources, evaluates program effectiveness, conducts compliance‑aligned drills, maintains emergency‑management policies, and supports coordinated responses to critical incidents to strengthen organisational resilience.

Key duties of the role

  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement major emergency and incident management policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate the development, review, testing and maintenance of operational policies, procedures, and guidelines that enhance the effective management of emergency responses.
  • Assist in the formulation of solutions for disaster resilience projects.
  • Plan and coordinate emergency response initiatives for WCHN.
  • Manage the ongoing development and delivery of awareness training and exercises related to emergency management and incident response.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in using contemporary project management principles in leading, planning, developing and coordinating concurrent emergency response projects, programs, or other business continuity planning activities.
  • Significant experience in performing an advisory and education role including engagement, collaboration, and consultation with staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction.
