About the Role:

You will provide person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care while supporting the leadership and day-to-day operations of the ward, unit or service. Working closely with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you will help coordinate care delivery, support practice improvements, contribute to workforce management activities, and promote continuity and consistency of care. You will also provide clinical leadership, support the development of students and less experienced staff, and contribute to quality improvement, education and service development initiatives to achieve positive patient outcomes.

About You: 

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with professional standards.
  • Experience supervising students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
