About the role: 

Reporting to the Director of Occupational Therapy, this role is responsible for the provision of comprehensive Occupational Therapy services to inpatient rehabilitation patients. The Occupational Therapist in this position requires broad clinical experience at a senior level in the occupational therapy management of patients with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities relevant to all rehabilitation areas including neurological and amputee patients and those with complex needs, and works as part of the multi-disciplinary rehab leadership team. 

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility for the organisation and supervision of clinical Occupational Therapy services to a designated area as a member of an interdisciplinary team. 
  • High levels of responsibility and organisational skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities.  This includes the ability to supervise students, allied health assistants and junior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships.
