Lead Digital Innovation in Rural Healthcare

An exciting leadership opportunity is now available for an experienced and forward-thinking nursing professional to join the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network as the Clinical Digital Systems Optimisation Lead.

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of Clinical Digital Systems across EFNLHN, driving optimisation, innovation, clinician engagement, education, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and service efficiency.

Working closely with executive leadership, clinicians, educators, and digital health stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation, utilisation, and sustainability of systems including Sunrise EMR and other clinical digital platforms.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate Clinical Digital Systems optimisation initiatives across EFNLHN
  • Provide expert advice regarding digital workflows, documentation standards, and system enhancements
  • Drive clinician engagement and change management activities
  • Support governance, quality improvement, and business continuity planning
  • Oversee and support Sunrise EMR Educators
  • Coordinate education and training programs for staff across multiple disciplines
  • Monitor and improve data integrity, clinical documentation, and reporting outcomes
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, administrative, and ICT stakeholders
  • Lead improvement requests and represent EFNLHN in digital systems working groups and committees

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Essential

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience leading change management initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience using Sunrise EMR and other Clinical Digital Systems
  • Experience in leadership and management roles
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to support decision-making
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable

  • CHIA – Certified Health Informatician Australasia
  • Experience delivering education and staff training
  • Knowledge of the South Australian Public Health System
  • Experience conducting audits, projects, and service improvement activities
  • Membership eligibility with the Health Information Management Association of Australia
