Provide essential coordination and administrative services that directly support patient care and clinical operations.

About the role: 

Working collaboratively with the Medical Emergency Team (MET) Nurse Consultant, support quality assurance and review activities primarily through the data processing of all Medical Emergency Response Team calls.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Prepare MET forms for data entry and identify discrepancies for MET Nurse Consultant
  • Ensure accurate data entry of MET calls into the MET database
  • Organise scheduling of monthly MET meetings and appropriate venues & preparation and distribution of meeting materials such as the agenda, minutes, action notes, PowerPoint presentation and other correspondence
  • Collate relevant MET data from the patients’ Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Weekly audit of MET call datasheets against the Switchboard MET call list to ensure accuracy
  • Undertake minor research and data gathering to assist with presentations, projects, reports and correspondence as required
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers
  • Maintain a cohesive and accurate filing system both electronic and physical which includes scanning of all MET forms for future retrieval and review

About you:

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications and use of databases
  • A sound understanding of Medical terminology
  • An understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality requirements
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment i.e. printers, fax machine, photocopiers
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to empathise
  • Possess tact, discretion, diplomacy and negotiating skills
  • Proven ability to work without supervision, to manage high volumes of work, to set and meet deadlines, determine priorities and organise activities to provide efficient services
