Clinical Nurse – Palliative Care | Make a Meaningful Impact!

Southern Adelaide Palliative Service (SAPS) provides specialist palliative care to people living in Southern Adelaide. A range of services are offered to support patients and the important people in their lives. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Nurse – Palliative Care to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. In this rewarding role within our SAPS community and consult liaison teams, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager, Community Palliative Care Service in this role your clinical expertise and holistic approach will help ensure comfort, dignity, and respect for patients, and the important people in their lives, during challenging times. Duties for the role will include:

  • Specialist care coordination for patients and families in the outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Participate in clinical teaching and promote learning for staff with less experience 
  • Support and work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary palliative care team

About you:

  • Experience working with patients living with a life limiting illness
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working autonomously within a multidisciplinary framework
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to engage relevant clinical teams to foster ongoing communication and optimise patient care plans to achieve their goals of care

To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction.
