About the role

Leads project for Statewide Approaches Aboriginal Family Birthing across the health system,  to improve culturally safe maternity care and Birthing on Country alignment. Lead and shape partnerships, strategies that supports high-risk transitions, strengthen and improve health and wellbeing outcomes, and develop sustainable workforce and funding models.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead statewide approaches to Aboriginal Family Birthing project, which includes reviewing and proposing best practice model of care/s across the health system, this includes planning, governance, and reporting
  • Build and manage partnerships with LHNs, ACCHO/ACCO sector, and stakeholders through culturally appropriate engagement
  • Oversee service delivery improvements aligned with cultural determinants of health and community needs
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and high-quality, efficient service delivery
  • Support research, evidence-based practice, and provide leadership, mentoring, and strategic direction

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with services, programs, and/or staff and achieving optimal service outcomes.
  • Effective leadership skills, including highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment and independently under limited direction to plan, organise, and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to apply service improvement and project management knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability in the leadership and facilitation of change management
