Overview:

 

  • The Director, Digital Solutions Clinical Information Systems (“Director”) is accountable to the Director Clinical Information Systems (CIS) to establish and embed Clinical & PAS Information Systems, in line with key principles that will underpin and support successful implementation and ongoing use of digital solutions in SA Health.
  • The Director is responsible for implementation leadership and ongoing DHSA clinical business support for a range of business critical clinical and patient administration systems.  This position will work collectively with LHNs to implement business change required to support the successful implementation, optimisation, and sustained support of digital solutions across South Australian Health public hospitals through agreed service level agreements which align with broader strategic and business objectives.
  • The Director will participate as a key stakeholder in developing strategies and optimisation approaches of clinical and PAS solutions across SA Health public hospitals to ensure clinical and administrative solutions are fit for purpose and part of an integrated network of patient care tools.
  • Working in partnership with Office of Chief Medical Information Officer (OCMIO), DHW, LHNs and vendors the Director is responsible for the delivery of Clinical and PAS system enhancements and optimisation.
  • The Director will leverage critical success factors to drive and support strong clinical and business engagement throughout all stages of system implementation. This includes workflow design, content development, education and training, and ongoing system optimisation to ensure the effective adoption and continuous improvement of digital solutions.
  • The Director may be required to represent DHSA on national and state level committees dealing with national and state electronic patient care systems initiatives, implementation of national health systems, future trends, and related matters.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

·       A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

 

Special Conditions

  • A university qualification in medicine, nursing, allied health or other related discipline is required for this position.
