You will coordinate appointments, maintain records, and support quality care delivery in a sensitive and rewarding healthcare environment.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager of Community Palliative Care, this role is responsible for ensuring an efficient, comprehensive, customer orientated administrative service is provided for the Palliative Care Service.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Screening telephone calls and using initiative to determine action,
  • Managing enquiries from patients or carers, other staff members and external agencies,
  • Ordering stationery,
  • Maintaining office machines/ordering consumables,
  • Collate/format/distribute Department weekly newsletter,
  • Familiarising with the major aspects of other positions within the service,
  • Assisting other administration staff and providing short-term leave relief,
  • Acting in a professional manner at all times when dealing with internal and external clients,
  • Assisting with documentation to be sent to Human Resources,
  • Liaise with internal and external services

About you:

  • Ability to liaise and relate well with empathy to a variety of people, including elderly and disabled clients and to handle enquiries from a range of staff, patients and visitors,
  • Administrative duties experience,
  • Proven experience in providing an administrative service to a defined service area, preferably in health,
  • Experience in the use of patient appointment making systems, Sunrise, and Microsoft Office suite
