The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is South Australia’s principal provider of specialist paediatric, obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological services and the lead agency for Child and Adolescent Mental Health. It delivers acute, sub-acute and community-based services across the continuum of care and supports families not only from South Australia, but also from the Northern Territory, Far West New South Wales and Western Victoria.

The opportunity: Harrison McMillan is proud to partner with the Women’s & Children’s Health Network (WCHN) to recruit experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse/ Midwives to join their Women’s and Babies Services (WABS). This is an opportunity to step into key support roles within South Australia’s specialist maternity and neonatal services, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team delivering complex, high-acuity care to babies and their families.

The Role: Based in Adelaide, as a level 2 Clinical Nurse/ Midwife, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care while supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in the operational and clinical leadership of the unit.  This role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership support responsibilities, enabling you to consolidate your experience and develop further as a proficient practitioner. You will play a key role in promoting continuity of care, guiding less experienced staff, contributing to service coordination, and supporting the implementation of quality and practice improvements within a complex environment.

The candidate:  Successful candidates will be registered, or be eligible for registration as a Nurse and/ or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and, who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with a minimum of three year's post-registration experience, or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse.

You will have demonstrated clinical capability, work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, prioritise workloads and meet set timelines with minimum supervision, experience in the supervision of assistants in nursing, student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. Candidates will need the ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues in the healthcare setting, and will demonstrate strong communication, resilience and teamwork skills, with a passion to influence and improve models of care, with enthusiasm, drive and energy.

If you are ready to take the next step in your nursing and/ or midwifery career, we encourage you to apply!

Why Join WCHN: WCHN is South Australia’s specialist provider of health services for women, babies, children and young people. You will join a service recognised for clinical excellence, innovation and commitment to safety and quality.
