About the role

The Physiotherapist delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to children with brain injury, spinal issues, cerebral palsy, and complex rehabilitation needs. The Physiotherapist works with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach settings to ensure seamless care and optimal patient outcomes.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver therapy in a timely manner consistent with the indicated frequency and quantity to facilitate maximal recovery of patients.
  • Liaise with families, staff, and local community services to provide an integrated approach to patient management.
  • Provide a learning environment for students, colleagues, and the WCHN community.
  • Implement and evaluate evidence-based physiotherapy services.
  • Provide services to inpatients, outpatients, and at outreach locations.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Experience in Physiotherapy management of paediatric patients with rehabilitation needs.
  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting and working with children, adolescents and their caregivers.
  • Knowledge of effective Physiotherapy rehabilitation management principles for children.
  • Ability to ensure the provision and promotion of high quality, efficient and effective Physiotherapy services to children and young people with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and other complex rehabilitation needs.
