About the Role:

Join a supportive, multidisciplinary mental health team where your lived experience can make a real difference. As a Peer Support Worker, you’ll help deliver recovery-focused, evidence-based support across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings—empowering consumers to achieve their goals and better understand their own recovery journey. Working alongside clinicians, you’ll provide practical, day-to-day assistance while sharing insight, hope, and encouragement drawn from your personal experience.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Criteria 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse consumers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lived experience of mental health recovery, with the ability to provide empathetic, non-judgemental, and practical support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, manage priorities, and maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Experience supporting people with mental health challenges and engaging with community, health services, and diverse cultural groups.
  • Understanding of mental health, recovery principles, self-management strategies, and a commitment to culturally appropriate care.

Desired Criteria 

  • Willingness to undertake further relevant training, with experience supporting others in recovery from mental health challenges or disability.
  • Experience delivering one-on-one and group support within community, health, or service settings.
  • Knowledge of mental health recovery principles, consumer rights, and available community resources and services.
