Overview

Join a supportive Allied Health team delivering high-quality care across the Limestone Coast region. We are seeking motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA2 or AHA3) to support Occupational Therapy services within Country Health Connect.

These roles provide an opportunity to work closely with Occupational Therapists and the broader multidisciplinary team to support therapy programs that help clients maintain independence, improve function, and enhance quality of life within their homes and communities.

The positions may be filled at either AHA2 or AHA3 classification, depending on the experience, qualifications and skills of the successful applicant.

About the Role

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work under the supervision of Occupational Therapists to support the delivery of therapy services across hospital, community and outreach settings.

You will assist with implementing therapy programs, preparing patients for treatment, and supporting the smooth delivery of allied health services while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

At the AHA3 level, you will bring additional experience and may support more complex therapy programs, contribute to service coordination tasks and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

AHA2 Responsibilities

  • Assist Occupational Therapists with implementing therapy programs for patients and clients
  • Support patients during therapy activities and rehabilitation programs
  • Prepare equipment and treatment areas for therapy sessions
  • Monitor and report patient responses to therapy to supervising clinicians
  • Assist with group therapy sessions and community programs
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks

AHA3 Responsibilities

In addition to the above, AHA3 level staff may:

  • Assist with more complex therapy interventions under professional supervision
  • Provide support across a broader range of allied health service areas
  • Contribute to the coordination and organisation of therapy programs
  • Provide support and guidance to AHA2 staff and students where required
  • Assist with service improvement activities and program development

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent experience
  • Current driver’s licence (due to regional service delivery)
  • Ability to work across community and clinical settings
