About the role

The Shops Café Assistant supports smooth daily operations across Friends of WCH retail outlets by preparing quality food and barista coffee, delivering friendly customer service, managing sales, and maintaining safety standards to create a welcoming, efficient environment.

Key duties of the role

  • Prepare food and beverages according to standard operating recipes and quality standards.
  • Serve food and beverages to customers promptly in compliance with portion control and presentation standards.
  • Operate the espresso coffee machine to prepare coffee and other hot drinks.
  • Respond to customer requests in a professional and competent manner.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and operating equipment safely and carefully.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant food industry training with a recognised training organisation (Food Processing, Food Safety, Customer Service).
  • Experience in a Café or Hospitality environment.
  • Experience in Barista coffee making.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
