Join SA Health as a Research Support Officer and play a key role in coordinating clinical research projects that improve patient outcomes across South Australia. This full-time contract position until November 2026 offers the opportunity to work with leading researchers while managing databases, supporting regulatory compliance, and facilitating groundbreaking medical studies. Based in Adelaide's Southern Metropolitan region, you will be part of a collaborative team advancing healthcare innovation within one of Australia's premier health networks.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager, this role is responsible for providing confidential administrative support to the Unit Manager and the Clinical Research team in the day-to-day management of the administrative functions of the Clinical Research Unit ensuring its effective delivery, by providing efficient and responsive customer service, effective resource management, diary management, preparing agenda and minutes of meetings, maintenance of databases, and invoicing. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure the day-to-day administrative functions of the Clinical Research Unit effectively delivered,
  • Plan for and notify medical, nursing staff of planned and unplanned leave for trial requirements,
  • Provide continual and relevant data and information on changes to clinics, rules, and requests from clinicians,
  • Apply policies and procedures applicable to Clinical Research Unit clinics,
  • Manage the official records created and received according to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. 
  • Maintain cost centre records, monitor expenditure for all purchases within the Clinical Research Unit, and support financial reconciliation within the unit. 
  • Ensure all patient enquires are responded to confidentially and effectively including assessing needs and offering appropriate service or assistance,
  • Assist Research staff to resolve issues relating to trials and patients,
  • Maintain accurate statistics to minimise patient risk

About you:

  • Proven ability to work effectively under general direction, either independently or in a team,
  • Ability to resolve issues, meet deadlines and effectively use work related resources and information,
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively across a multi-disciplinary environment, including the capacity to communicate collaboratively with a range of staff and customers,
  • Ability to contribute to support continuous improvement and business support, including evaluating work procedures, implementing new systems and accurately managing data in databases and information systems. 
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point),
  • A high level of competency in the use of computers, word processing and office administration processes and procedures,
  • Experience in carrying out a wide range of administrative duties
