Overview:

The Senior Data Engineer – Data and Analytics Platform (DAP) Operations is accountable to the Specialist Operations Manager and is responsible for

• Leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of operational clinical analytics projects, models and services which deliver high quality, integrated and fit for purpose analytics solutions to clinicians
• Developing, building and delivering clinical analytic solutions that integrate data from new and existing clinical applications to establish real time solutions that enable use of operational clinical data across SA Health
• Providing professional oversight and leadership combined with hands on technical skills to support broad multidisciplinary clinical and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with patient and clinician requirements
• Establishing, maintaining and managing clinical data repositories and analytics databases to deliver user access to clinical data within a vSQL environment
• Establishing and ensuring best practice for clinical analytics development in compliance with government and agency policies, standards and guidelines for use of patient data
• Providing expert advice on industry standard clinical data models and data driven outcomes for SA Health.

Undertaking the Data and Analytics platform maintenance and enhancement, provisioning of enterprise data assets and enabling technologies, with operations support under the direction of the Program Director. The Senior Data Engineer has responsibility for leading user and Local Health Network engagement to develop new solutions, support solution configuration, align solutions with clinical workflows and coordinate delivery of the OCMIO defined operational analytics initiatives.

• A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

• The incumbent will be required to work out of hours and some intra/interstate may be required.
• A flexible approach to scheduling and taking leave is required.
