Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is one of the largest regional hospitals in South Australia, offering 75 beds, including flex beds and a dedicated High Dependency Unit. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, medical and surgical services, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatient clinics. Our Cancer Resource Centre is among the largest in regional SA, featuring six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care, and counselling services - helping patients receive vital treatment close to home. We are also proud to be one of only three regional stroke services in South Australia, delivering specialised stroke treatment 24/7 in partnership with metropolitan stroke units. About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in the General Medical/Surgical Ward at Whyalla Hospital, you will provide high-quality nursing care while developing from a novice to a proficient practitioner. This role offers the opportunity to consolidate your clinical knowledge and skills through hands-on experience and continuous professional development. You will be accountable for your own nursing practice and for activities delegated to you, contributing to safe, patient-centred care and supporting the overall effectiveness of the ward team.

 

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
